well changed the coil and the conderser still the same problem, noticed the fuel in the filter bubbling while the motor was hot and displaying its problem, let it cool and watched the fuel remain calm while the engine ran great, not sure if a bad fuel pump would act like this

Are your fuel lines running to close to something hot?

well after to talking around, I didnt think the fuel pump was the problem, and the general consensus was the carb, so I got a BN rebuilt 30 pict 2 from Shane last night and stuck it on there, the converter base was interfering with the rod with the spring running to the back of the carb so I had to bend it a little to keep it clear, spun the motor 4 or 5 times and it fired off like champ, then I tried giving it fuel to reve up and it bogged so I used the one mixture to try and remove the bogg and nothing, whether the screw is all in or all out or in the middle it still bogs to where if you give it all the gass from idle it all but dies and when you let off it goes back to idle perfect, so I thought maybe the rod with the spring isnt moving from the bend but it is, it dont seem like it moves much, but it seems to move all its supposed to, so I moved on to timing for the 009, but I only have a timing light with only a light so its hard to find the 28-30 degrees, so I turned it to where it fires up good and runs good and still the bogg, man I begining to pull my hair out on my dubs its not supposed to be this hard lol

Sorry to hear this... Have you tried running your fuel line into a gas can and not through your tank/lines?you got another 009 to throw in to make sure that it's not just the dizzy not advancing?.... measured your fuel pump rod on how much it clears the plastic flange at it's full height during rotation? etc. etc....next.. valve clearances and compression check?....I have a timing light that has the advance settings if you need to borrow....

well I "power tuned it" turning the distributor and got alot of the problem gone gonna ride it from there but it did get rid of the problem from the other carb it will idle with the choke off, the only problem I see with the new carb is the adjustment has no efffect. Also getting some icing on the intake so it may be something with my risers, definitely happy with the carb, and you letting it go, I am going to do the valves tomorrow, I feel like its getting fuel because as soon as I loosen the fuel line to the inlet of the carb it starts to spray, and I have replace all the fuel lines except the metal line in the frame, I feel like the 009 is advancing because it will move steadily with the timing light on it with RPMs, I hate to suspect compression but it will be an eventual thing.

Well I drove it this AM and all seemed to be good, the intake is icing up with the new carb so I know I will have to clean the heat risers out and is probably most of the problem with the bogging and I guess the old carb wasnt shooting enough gas to ice it up, I timed it enough to get the bog gone and once its had time to get warm it does even better, Muffler bearing is going to let me use his timing gun with a dial so I can make sure the timing is right, but its crazy what time can do to a carb with it not being used, feeling good about it now.

yeah I have even noticed my oil leak is not as bad i assume that the car was running a bit hot with the old carb not shooting gas the way it was supposed to.
