Jon65's 65
I thought I would start a thread for my bug. Seeing how it will soon be painted and worked on to bring it to show worthy condition, I can post some of the progress when the painting begins.
Here's my car. More pics to come as I find them on my computer.
Thanks for looking. Any comments/advice are welcome.

Nice car, looks show worthy already! What was wrong with the dual carbs?

Thanks, you should see how long it takes for me to wash it. If I haven't cleaned it completly inside and out, to me, I haven't cleaned it well enough.

The throttle arm bushings had worn themselves out and began to have too much play in them. When I was told this I had 2 options: 1 to go and spend money on new carbs, linkage, and hardware; or 2 use the stock single carb and manifold that I had left over from where I converted it to dual carbs. So I bit the bullet and as of the end of this week, I will have a single carb. But it's ok, as long as I get to drive my bug, it's fine by me.
Still, I was kinda disapointed that I can't have my fast looking dual carbs. I guess I'm a dual carb person stuck with a single now.

Re: Jon65's 65
You could of had the carbs rebushed. There is even someone local in Monticello that does it

There is?
I was informed that they had to be shipped out to CA to be properly rebushed.
Oh well. Besides, I think I will get them back from the shop, so I'll just put them up in case I do want to rebush them and rerun them again.

Thanks. Right now it is just a quick enamel paint job that the PO put on to sell it. But it will be repainted as Bahama Blue.

Here's a pic that I liked the most. As we lined up to go around the track, my car ended up right next to two Herbies. It was awesome.

It's the Y U Buggin show that goes down at the Atlanta Motor Speedway every June. You should come to the next one.

Just a complete tune up of the motor. I was gonna get it in perfect tune that way when I start maintaining it myself, I have a good guideline to follow as far as timing and carb adjustments go.
And also replacing the dual carbs with a single one. I can already do this myself, but I figured I might as well let the shop do it while it is already there.
