Bug me Video 3; Is it good for a performence build?

I am about to start my 1835 motor build, would this be a good video to use as a reference or is there another book that is better. I have been studying the Mentley manual at the shop when we are not busy for some time now.

They just build stock engines in the video from what I can remember.
