Please help

I have a type 1 engine in my '72 bay. Just recently put it in. I have the timing down right...had the carb worked on etc. But the engine won't accelerate and won't continue to idle. Any thoughts?

I figured it out. Im using a mechanical dizzy and the conpacitor on the side was not grounded and was causing the engine to not spark correctly.

Condensor! Definitely needs to be grounded, we found that out a few years back on the way to Florida.
