so on my 36hp i noticed that the condencer runs to the same wire as the points? ive never messed w 36. on all my other vws i remembered that the condencer went to the negetive side of the coil... and points wire went to the positive side? im trying to start her turns over w key... good compression... but getting no fire. someone please point me in the right way...lol thanks.

The only wire coming off the distributor should go to the neg side only, the hot lead from the key goes to the positive side only. The point should connect to the condenser lead inside the distributor.
