Re: My 65 Beetle Leela
thank you, they are in pretty decent shape too...
vapor sealed the doors, installed the passenger side fender and tended to the broken bolts (that was fun)
removed drivers side and beat out the dents and reinstalled...
I'd like to give a BIG shout out to PB blaster for making my life easier today!!

Re: My 65 Beetle Leela
Painted the tank, ran the brake line to the rear, replaced the soft lines up front. And installed one door panel.

Got the firewall stuff installed and the rubber seals. How much fun was that?
Began to instal the fuel talk and I realized I needed a small peice of soft line.

Re: My 65 Beetle Leela
Tried to do with out a"built beam" for now but that's not going to happen. I need to narrow one for sure. And smaller tires are a must. I'm at a finacial stand still on that.

Re: My 65 Beetle Leela
do a 7in beam and get some 165/45/15s. you'll have to do some body modification. like with a BFH. but it will look cool as shizz!

Re: My 65 Beetle Leela
If slammed then yeah you will be on the buckets......my 64 is not slammed but has a 6 inch beam with disc that push it back out and the tires (145/65/15) are still on the buckets and inner fenders86vwgti8v wrote:I was gonna do 6.will I still need the BFH?
Re: My 65 Beetle Leela
maybe for the headlight buckets. i have a 6 in my car and mine only rub occasionally and i def dont have near the turning radius anymore. but its still smaller than most mid-sized cars out there. you'll get used to it. oh and im running 145/65/15s on the front right now.

Re: My 65 Beetle Leela
I want to agree with you. I'm really excited to get it running been about 18 years since I had a aircooled. Maybe further down the road we can raise the tranny.

Re: My 65 Beetle Leela
narrowed beam with adjusters installed still needs to replace the monster truck tires, and install gas tank. will prob get about 1.5 to 2" lower

Thanks man.
I been trying to find me 2 tires for up front on the cheap. Not really concerned with the rear. Its going to have some rake. Not a lot but some.
