Trophies as part of your display? -RANT Empty Trophies as part of your display? -RANT

So what is up with car guys taking trophies from past shows with them to shows and putting them in and around their car? Who started this? I have been showing cars for 20 years and it has never made sense to me. If your car is so nice that it wins trophies, than don't clutter it up with a bunch of cheesy gold plastic trophies. The judges should know your car is nice without a reminder of other trophies you have won.
Who are those trophies supposed to impress?
Do you think anyone else at the show cares that your car has won trophies at other shows?
Isn't it a pain in the butt to haul them to every show you go to? (and you must go to a lot of shows by the looks of all those trophies)
I guess I need to start taking my bowling trophies with me next time I hit the lanes, just so everyone knows I'm a trophy winner?
I have some old trophies from racing MX back in the day, should I strap them to my handlebars every time I go riding?

If you need a display for your car at shows, buy some mirrors or something..

There was a guy at one of the alabama shows last year that had a ton of trophies around his car. But they were just random trophies he had bought at a thrift store or something. I remember one said something like "congratulations, you passed the 4th grade", also had a karate trophy, golf trophy, and a bunch of others. Pretty funny set-up.

Simple. They don't actually drive their cars. The cars are really just rolling trophy cases they pull out to collect more trophies. After the show, all the plastic awards go back in the case and the case goes in the garage until the next show.

At least it didn't read, "Congratulations, you passed the 4th grade on your third try"
