Type IV Oil Light

In the Westy I have a stock type IV except for the Pinto Weber progressive carb. When I come to a stop on a slight or above grade, just as she comes to a stop, the oil light will blink on and sometimes as long as a second. The RPMs aren't dropping and it's only the oil light.

Could this be an oil sensor on the fritz? or Could there be a greater problem lurking that would cause pressure to drop during a stop.

Start with the easy stuff. Check for a lose wire and order a sender. Usually, when an oil light truly comes on, it's all over but the check writing.

This means the oil is getting hot, thinning out and then losing viscosity and it's ability to build and hold oil pressure and that triggers the light..

Ignore this and you'll be coming to see me sooner than you'd like and not by choice.

1- Buy a damn CHT gauge!
2- Buy a damn oil temp gauge
3- Buy a damn oil pressure gauge

without these you are driving blind....
