Just thought I would start a thread to for everyone to post some pictures of VW's they have owned. These are a few of mine that some of you may not have seen
This is my 67 split when I first got it
This is after I started work on it
This is my 1st Bug that started it all for me. It is a 69 autostick
My white 1967 that a tree fell on
A 74 standard I had
1998 new Bug

Re: VW's you have owned
My old 61 after a good bit of work....cant seem to find the before picture
The 67
After lowering the rear and switching wheels
After adding wider wheels in the back along with wider fenders
The day we brought it home
After
A little after we first bought it
All cleaned up
How it sits now waiting for the metal work
My bus when I looked at it
After flipping the spindles, doing a straight axle and lots of cleaning
A buggy that I never finished

Thats the old rita bus at the top there, know that bus really well! To many pics for me to post here, only got into digital pics and puters about 8 years ago. This is the past 7 years and missing maybe 10-15 since last updated. Had maybe 170-180 over the last 25 years...

The 69 Beetle I took to college in Daytona Beach long ago. She was a great car until rear-ended on Mason Ave and totaled. I'd love to get another 69 to replace it someday.

Re: VW's you have owned
(I had originally posted these in the thread for my 62 a long time ago, but since this topic is here, I decided to move these cars over here)
here are a few of my older cars. The blue one is a 77 and the white one is a 67. The 77 was my first car. Drove it all through highschool and one year of college. Then my dad and I gave it a re-paint in preparation for selling it for an earlier bug. Bought the 67 and then sold the 77 a couple of weeks later for the exact same price I paid for the 67.
Fixing a few small rust spots before paint (Dad did most of the work, I just helped)
Primered and wet sanding
Here I am saying goodbye the day I sold it.
When I bought the 67, my dad went out and bought the 62 Ragtop posted above. We tore it apart and then it sat for about 2 years untouched. I was driving back and forth to Atlanta everyday for school and the 67 was letting me down alot. I needed a more reliable ride, but wanted to keep a VW. My dad and I worked out a deal. He bought me a more reliable car and gave me the 62 to work on, and I gave him the 67. A couple years later he found an old Chevy panel truck and the 67 was sold.

Re: VW's you have owned
I've been trying to dig up some pictures to scan but can't find any of them right now.
My folks bought a green and white '70 bus new. We took it camping all the time and even moved cross country from Utah in it in '74.
Then they bought a '76 Rabbit new. That's the car I learned to drive in.
In '82 they bought another new Rabbit and my brother and I rebuilt the '76 as our car.
In '83 I bought a '67 Beetle that didn't run and rebuilt it "California look" with shaved turn signals and all the chrome stripped off or blacked out.
Got home from a two-year mission trip to Japan in 88 and the '67 was gone. To this day I haven't gotten a straight answer from Mom or my brother about what happened to it.
Bought "Pippi", my '76 Westy, in '91 and I've had her ever since.

Re: VW's you have owned
My first bug was a 69 couldnt find any of that one.
This is my first squareback which was my grandfathers before I reworked it.
Kept fuel injection
First square back was totaled so used parts to build my Blue one - this one ran the best.
Sold the blue one 1971 to a friend and stripped an old 1970 which became red after stripping it down. This was the only picture I had of it prior to paint.
No more adapters ..... Wish I knew where this one was now.
Now in the Beetle, will always be a squareback fan.
