New Guy from Stockbridge
Owned 5 bugs and 2 busses between 1969 and 1980. My favorite was a '59 walk through bus I got got while stationed at Vandenberg AFB in 1971. Bought Jonn Muir's book about that time and a set of Craftsman metric tools. John gave me the courage to develop some rudimentary mechanical skills. Drove that '59 from Cali to Florida in March of '73 when I left the Air Force. What a long, slow, beautiful spring drive! Had to ditch the bus for cheap when I moved to Texas and have always regretted it. I have had several dreams about that bus! Recently! My old black Labrador drooling with his head out the window and his jowls flapping in the breeze! Anyway I'm lusting for another old bus...not a project but not a gem (too expensive!). Me and the wife might start going to shows to get a little more networked into the VW scene. Life's too short not to indulge in something besides work! Take care!

Howdy. Be sure to check the classifieds here, and also you might want to check out thesamba.com . you can always find some good deals there. I live in ellenwood, so i'm right next to ya. if ya ever find a good bus to work on, gimme a hollar, and i'd be glad to come over and help ya wrench a little on it . I'm always drivin around stockbridge, so if ya see me, give me a beep. i drive a greyish/ blackish (primer) 72 super beetle.
The closest club to you is prolly the aircooled airheads. we meet every second saturday, usually at the mcdonough square, but it changes from time to time. nothing formal, just a "come by and hang out" kind of thing. no membership fees or anything.
anyhoo, hope to see ya around.
