Post by Warrior Sat Jan 23, 2010 3:53 am

whats goin on? I was given a link to this forum on another forum. I'm from paulding county. I am 23yrs old and have owned a VW since i was 14. Its a 1974 Super beetle, stock 1600cc and stock trans. i have a scat drag fast shifter in it and really miss driving it. the brake went out on me a few years back and i just parked it and havent messed with it since. well last weekend some punks decided to give me a new paint job. anyways it has relit the fire to get this vdub back on the open road where she belongs. I miss driving her ( any my wallet does too ). i lost alot of the info i use to know about these and i am having to start from scatch. anyways back to making sure they dont pick a diffrent color for her. heres how she started New Guy from Dallas Image008-1
New Guy from Dallas Image007-3
and this is what they did to her.

no idea why they decided to spare the windows on the passager side. I also have the pop outs for her locked up in the building.

Hate to see your bug got ruffed up by some punks. Get those brakes fixed...add a few more colors...and get back on the road in Tye Dye!

Turpentine will remove most spray paint without harming the base paint. It looks like there was a good film of mildew on there so that might help in the removal. Welcome aboard and let us know if you need any help!

I don't know that turpentine is even needed to get the paint off with the much dirt and growth on the car... i'd bet that most of it would come off with a good bath... I'm not too far from Dallas, let me know if you need any help cleaning it up!
