My 2 cents from experience. The urethane tranny mounts are horrible. The dont last very long. They will crack, and the vibration they transfer is annoying. For the front beam, you dont have a lot of choice unless you narrow from the center. They arent too bad if you do it right. Drill a hole in them where the grease fitting is so you can get the grease is good. They will still stiffen the front end some. They just dont settle like the original bearings.

Not much progress tonight. Cleaned the shop, vacuumed and dusted. I like a clean work area. I did get the rear backing plates made up, shoes on, springs and e-brake lever.

Tomorrow will be a big day, I hope to get up early and get at it. Lot of stuff to paint and assemble. Wish me luck. I'll post more pics!

Well I'm beat, it's been a long day. I started around 8:30 this morning and I just got out of the shower.

I started assembly around 11:30 with this...

'64 Sunroof "Geek" - Page 4 PanAssembly002

These 215/65R15's are close to the trailing arm. The Bump stop is not an issue yet, when I stand on the pan at the back this clearance actually gets larger.
'64 Sunroof "Geek" - Page 4 PanAssembly004

'64 Sunroof "Geek" - Page 4 PanAssembly005

I got all the tie rods cut and welded also. The front suspension went together nicely, I got lucky on the dipples in the torsion leafs. I put the leafs in and the arms and marked them. I set the alignment as close as I could for now.

I didn't get to the brake lines, I'm hoping to do that tomorrow. Maybe later I can sit the body on the pan and see how she looks.

Thanks for all your kind words guys, I'm beat and I need a weekend to rest now!

Today I got the brake lines installed and I pumped fluid in them and then bled them all by myself. It was not easy but a bungee cord served as my person pumping. I adjusted the brakes and the brakes are finished. I didn't get the body on the pan I still have to install a fuel line. I'm going to try to push one through the manual choke tube that is empty!!

At least it is a roller now.

A 215/65R15 will fit but I want to see where it will sit with an engine in it.
'64 Sunroof "Geek" - Page 4 Assembly4-5-10003

And the front is perfect, 2" narrowed each side. It will settle some and get that fender down on the tire.

Just a few more nights of work, and you'll have it ready to drive to Mcdonough this weekend! You should have told me you were setting the body on, I could have given you a hand.

Last minute decision, if I drive it this weekend I'll need to pull the Engine out of O'Bugga, I don't want to do that. I'm going to call Jimmy and see if I can borrow a motor from him. I need a 6v Fly, Disk and PP. I'm running the 6v starter on 12v. I wont have it ready to drive to McDonough. BAP maybe. I think the Tow bar will fit.

It never was painted, would loved to of seen this car with that patina on it. I've got to paint the inside as well. Once I get everything together I plan on rollin it this way for a while. I'll add stuff along and along, door panels, headliner, and seat covers. I've got enough stuff to piece it together mechanically for now.
