Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Did work on the bus some today. Finally put in the cluster I got from Gary at Reynolds. With that in I finished the wiring at the engine and got the warning lights working....gen and oil.....
Also decided to sand off the scaly rust on the roof and kryloned it to match the bumpers.....there is lots of pitting and up close you can see it but I think it came out great

Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Here is the pic from the quick sand and spray of the decklid. Still have to paint the drivers rear corner of the bus before it can go back on. Also check out those hinges!
Also went to mom and dads and got my 15 bus wheels that I bought from Glenn a long time ago. Took them along with the bmw wheels to the tire shop and 20 bucks later the tires were off the bbs wheels and on the bus wheels
195/50s up front and 205/60s in the back
Decided to paint the hubcaps gray while waiting on the paint to dry on the wheels. I think they look pretty good
Everything finished drying just before dark so I through all the wheels on to see how it looked......I am digging it! And yes I love me some Krylon!

I like Krylon cause it dries in minutes where the rustoleum that I have used takes a while to dry....
Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Rustoleum clogs my nose and sticks to my arm hair. Dupli-Color dries in 15 min and it is more durable! No sticky stuff either.

Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
I finished painting the left rear corner and around the decklid. I reinstalled the decklid and installed the side marker lights I picked up at Reynolds. I still have to buff the rest of the bus so it will match a little better.....
Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Thanks man....and yeah I really like the wheels. I think they are my favorite part.zabo wrote:looking good- hubcaps and wheels look great
