Not getting proper gas to engine
New owner of a 69 Ghia, has been refurbed quite some time ago not sure how long though. Replaced engine fuel lines, filter. Will run fine at times but then seems to starve for gas. Looking at the fuel filter it goes from 1/4 full to nothing on occasion. Any ideas?

Re: Not getting proper gas to engine
Possible clog in gas tank or main fuel line? Bad rubber hose under tank or underneath car near the transaxle? Vapor locking? Bad fuel pump?

Will track down those leads, Thanks

Re: Not getting proper gas to engine
Probably vapor lock. Is the engine running hot? All tin in place? Gas tank vent plugged?

Re: Not getting proper gas to engine
when you say all tin in place, I'm not sure what to look for on that.

Re: Not getting proper gas to engine
Im referring to all of the sheet metal on your engine. For example, there is a piece that goes between the apron and the engine to block the heat from the exhaust getting to your cooling fan. A hot engine compartment will cause the fuel to vaporize and the pump becomes useless. The engine needs all of its factory sheet metal in place on the engine or the fan will suck hot air in from the bottom of the engine. Basically, the engine compartment is sealed to keep the top side cool. Cover any gaps.
