Aircooled in an airplane

Post by mick311x on Mon Jan 23, 2017 7:56 pm

I'm the proud owner of an inherited project that my father-in-law left to me. It's a mostly-finished, two-seater plane with a VW aircooled engine. I live in Augusta, and I'm looking for someone in the area who might be able to help me get this thing running. Any suggestions on where to start?

Thanks!!!

I'm in Augusta. Is the engine together? How long has this thing been sitting around? Got any pictures?

The engine is together, and it's been sitting around for several years.  I can't seem to find a decent picture of it, but this will give you the general idea.  I'll get some better pictures to post.

I know how to check the basic stuff. Values, plugs, wires, compression, etc. If you want to go through that. For serious issues, I recommend that guy with the VW yard on wrightsboro road.

PM'd my #.
