Little gremlins making me nuts

I've been finishing up my 53 split and have a couple of things I can't figure out.
I can't get it to shift into first and second gear.
My generator light doesn't come on when I turn the key on,the oil light does
Turn signal indicator light doesn't come on.
Any suggestions?

Do you have the lockout plate installed correctly under the shifter? Is it a stock transmission? The generator light works directly from the regulator. Maybe the points inside are stuck. Does it actually charge while its running? I assume you are running semaphores? There is a wire from each semaphore going to the same bulb in the dash. The other side of the semaphore runs to the turn signal switch. Do you have this diagram?

Thanks for the reply. I've looked at the shift plate and am pretty sure it's in there right from the photos I've seen. I tend to think that it might be the hockey stick. The tyranny was the only part of the whole car that I farmed out. I restored every nut and bolt on it. Zwitters are a little different on the wiring. I would like to find an excellent competent shop if there's any that can be recommended.

I do have that diagram. I changed the electrical to 12 v and put the regulator under the back seat. Checked the wire from it to the right. It could be a regulator issue. I'll check it. Thanks.

If you have a later tranny in there with a bus nosecone, those are a pain to get right. I had to use a bolt at the connector so I could loosen it and move it. Once I finally found where it would go in all gears, I drilled a divet in the hockey stick and used the stock bolt.
