| Found this Westy on Craiglist. Talked to the owner for two hours and went over every question known to man. "It's awesome, best around and the body is square with fresh paint". We left Friday night, drove 7.5 hours to Wilmington, NC, pulled over by the cops just for being on the wrong side of the tracks, arrived there at 2:30am, stayed at a hotel in the hood with screaming and fighting all night, left out the next morning with $7500.00 dollars cash in hand, met the owner at 8am and made my decision in 5.5 milliseconds of the garage door coming up. It would have been nice to know that the back was smashed in, the slide door had been hit, the drivers door had a big dent, the "old but in great shape" canvas top was torn to shit, the paint was fresh......fresh over the rust and the through body holes, new rebuilt engine had a nice leak, interior was shitty and the carpet was just about worn through. "I'm driving from Ga with my wife and kid so I want to make sure this bus is everything you say it is" "Oh yeah man, this thing is jam up". I could have fucking killed him. Luckily for him my blood did not start to boil until we were heading down the road. He said "I'll give you an allowance of $800 bucks. You can get all the body work and paint done for 500 and have 300 left over". I said there must be a difference between NC buck and GA bucks because I can get the fucking deck lid painted on my bug for 500 bucks. Here is the link http://atlanta.craigslist.org/cto/869237550.htmlI made changes to his ad. 1974 VW Westafalia Edition Bus Bay Window-Great Condition! For someone who doesn't know shit about VWsThis is one of the few that has most of the factory original components original deterioration and is currently my daily driver although, when you come to see it I will have to move a motorcycle on a stand, boxes of shit, lawnmower and kid toys so I can get it out. Currently shows just under 100,000 miles but the engine was rebuilt less than 3 years ago but it still leaks oil like it had 100,000. This bus runs great! If you make it that far you might get to test this statement. It features upper and lower z-bed ragged as hell/bench seat, swival seats, swival table, operable sink / drain, ice chest, storage closet, spare tire, Pioneer Tape/Radio awesome.......tapes, Sony Amp, 4 speakers two busted ones in the doors and two shitty boxes in the back rolling around on the floor, and full cabinets. All original interior seats "lime green." and it shows Tread life on the tires are approx. 75%. This has one of the best interiors and exteriors around. Around 12 square feet in Wilmington, NC If you would like a closer look, feel free to email me and give me your phone #. We are heading to the mountains this Saturday returning Sunday afternoon. If you are interested, feel free to come by for a test ride. Or make a decision in just a few seconds._________________ Scott Burel "Call me if I need you" 71 Standard Beetle, "Big Bird" 74 Westfalia, "Winifrid" www.burelphotography.com**Future CS Club Member** |

| I've been a great distance to look at a car with surface rust in a few places. The few places with metal left had surface rust. The rest was gone. |

| Sorry to hear about your nightmare dude, I too have been down that road. It always amazes me that people think that they can get away with this kind of thing. _________________ Ben

| My thinking is, that if you are going to lie or Streeeeeeeeeetch the truth, do to a guy locally, not a guy coming from 7.5 hrs away with a wife and a kid and a dog. _________________ Scott Burel "Call me if I need you" 71 Standard Beetle, "Big Bird" 74 Westfalia, "Winifrid" www.burelphotography.com**Future CS Club Member** |

That is the most incredible part. He knew this and still had the nerve to lie through his teeth. _________________ Ben

| I'm a gluten for punishment. We're going Friday night to look at / pick up another. $3000 more but looks awesome. This time I spent 1 hour on the phone and had him send a ton of pics. And it's only 2 hrs away. Wish me luck! _________________ Scott Burel "Call me if I need you" 71 Standard Beetle, "Big Bird" 74 Westfalia, "Winifrid" www.burelphotography.com**Future CS Club Member**

| Ummm...Seems a little pricey. Were you really set on a show car? I would wait to find something a little cheaper that starts with a good solid foundation and a strong power train. Have you looked at this one? http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=630533Also, if you're willing to drop that much money in a bay, you could look further west and find some really great busses for cheap. Plus driving or shipping it home would still probably save you some money. Keep your options open. With the economy the way it is, I imagine you'll find some nice cars showing up that won't break the bank. _________________ Of course I drive it every day... and stop calling me Shirley.

Price is right, pictures look good but talk to the guy for a while and it adds up quick._________________ Scott Burel "Call me if I need you" 71 Standard Beetle, "Big Bird" 74 Westfalia, "Winifrid" www.burelphotography.com**Future CS Club Member** |

Even at full price it's very close to book. _________________ Scott Burel "Call me if I need you" 71 Standard Beetle, "Big Bird" 74 Westfalia, "Winifrid" www.burelphotography.com**Future CS Club Member** |
