everytime i say motor (when i'm reffering to cars), i always think to myself "its an engine!!!". its one of those things that i say knowing full well its wrong, but it doesn't really bother me. Now i gotta go. im going to tune the carb on my motor. hahaha, lol!

I hate loose-lose, I hate it even more when I read it in an online news article.

I'll jump in... bounce I agree with Scott's engine/motor explanation. It's just hard to throw out some of the long accepted phrases that we're so used to, like "motoring around in the bus". It sounds so normal. I "tool" around in the bus, 'cause I have to carry a bunch of tools. I guess that's where that came from.

My weird word is "lightning". Lightning is the streak you see in the sky in a thunderstorm. It's a noun, like rain or hail or sleet. So when lightning is ocurring, is it "lightning" or "lightning-ing"?

I had this same converstion about internal combustion engines and electric motors with some friends a few months back. Just when we thought we had everyone one in the group convinced to quit using "motor" when talking about their cars, one of the group politely reminded us that it is a boat motor, not a boat engine...

What's weird is that they call it an inboard or outboard motor but what it bolts to is a transom engine mount, jack plate engine mount, etc.

It is obviously made for Motors............

Why does Royal Purple sell an Engine break in oil but a 20w50 Motor oil?

Longest single palindrome, detartrated. Or the Finnish word saippuakivikauppias. Or the Dutch Koortsmeetsysteemstrook. And finally, the worlds longest palindromic poem.
Dammit I’m mad.
Evil is a deed as I live.
God, am I reviled? I rise, my bed on a sun, I melt.
To be not one man emanating is sad. I piss.
Alas, it is so late. Who stops to help?
Man, it is hot. I’m in it. I tell.
I am not a devil. I level “Mad Dog”.
Ah, say burning is, as a deified gulp,
In my halo of a mired rum tin.
I erase many men. Oh, to be man, a sin.
Is evil in a clam? In a trap?
No. It is open. On it I was stuck.
Rats peed on hope. Elsewhere dips a web.
Be still if I fill its ebb.
Ew, a spider… eh?
We sleep. Oh no!
Deep, stark cuts saw it in one position.
Part animal, can I live? Sin is a name.
Both, one… my names are in it.
Murder? I’m a fool.
A hymn I plug, deified as a sign in ruby ash.
A Goddam level I lived at.
On mail let it in. I’m it.
Oh, sit in ample hot spots. Oh wet!
A loss it is alas (sip). I’d assign it a name.N
ame not one bottle minus an ode by me:
“Sir, I deliver. I’m a dog”
Evil is a deed as I live.
Dammit I’m mad.

The palindromes I listed were from Weird Al Yankovic's song Bob, not a continuios one but the whole song is a collection.

"Bob"

I, man, am regal - a German am I
Never odd or even
If I had a hi-fi
Madam, I'm Adam
Too hot to hoot
No lemons, no melon
Too bad I hid a boot
Lisa Bonet ate no basil
Warsaw was raw
Was it a car or a cat I saw?

Rise to vote, sir
Do geese see god?
"Do nine men interpret?" "Nine men," I nod
Rats live on no evil star
Won't lovers revolt now?
Race fast, safe car
Pa's a sap
Ma is as selfless as I am
May a moody baby doom a yam?

Ah, Satan sees Natasha
No devil lived on
Lonely Tylenol
Not a banana baton
No "x" in "Nixon"
O, stone, be not so
O Geronimo, no minor ego
"Naomi," I moan
"A Toyota's a Toyota"
A dog, a panic in a pagoda

Oh no! Don Ho!
Nurse, I spy gypsies - run!
Senile felines
Now I see bees I won
UFO tofu
We panic in a pew
Oozy rat in a sanitary zoo
God! A red nugget! A fat egg under a dog!
Go hang a salami, I'm a lasagna hog
