For those who have not seen this on our site, we are having a tech weekend at Jake Raby's shop in Cleveland. Jake has built a new shop with a chassis dyno and a lift. We will be dynoing cars and using the dyno info to fine tune them for the drive to Bug-A-Paluza. Go here for more details- http://www.athensvwclub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=666

Jake's address is 47 Raby drive
Cleveland GA 30528 GPS and google maps can find Raby Dr.

We are leaving Athens at 7:30 am. All the details can be found at http://www.athensvwclub.com/phpBB2/index.php

I'm embarrassed to put mine on.

With a little tweaking you might get some new found power.

Well, tech day at Raby's was awesome. Jake was nice enough to open his doors and let the club in for a tech/dyno day. There were engine pulls, muffler mods, dyno and the list goes on and on. I got the 40/44 EIS KADS rebuilt, tapped for vacuum, the pumps set and rebuilt a 205P SVDA that Jake donated to the cause. Winnie was the first up on the dyno and we all agreed that she did OK for the piss poor set up I have right now (single Weber/009). We'll put her back on the roller after the duals and SVDA are installed. The pulls were sampled 3rd gear at 5200rpms. Complete photos to come!

What I learned at tech weekend:
Use Brad Penn 20w50 or Royal Purple 20w50 motorcycle oil in A/C VWs.
My newish Ford Van needs synthetic instead of regular 5w20.
Do a tune up before any dyno time (sorry about the wild goose chase).
I need to install an electronic ignition.
I'll never build a boxter engine.

x100 on that. It wouldn't be so bad if you had a trained mouse!

Here are our individual pictures. I'll have the rest of the event pictures up soon. My apologies to Scott A. You are the only one that I do not have a picture of on the dyno but I do have your results. For full size picture please click here.
