PostSubject: Nosecone Seal   Fri Oct 16, 2009 8:26 pm

Has anyone changed the nosecone seal? Mine is leaking and the inside of my car smells like 90 weight oil. I'm pulling the Engine and Trans this Sunday to address a lot of issues that I have noticed. I need to find a way to replace the seal while the trans is out of the car.

Thanks

nose cone seal?- theres a paper gasket between the nose cone and trans, and then bushings tht hold the actual hockkey stick in.
either way there shouldnt be much oil up there to leak. Im guessing your referring to the bushings. I dont know if you can do this yourself- I know rancho will rebush them for you - or you could buy one of these from me. Very Happy Very Happy

also check your vent hole as well to make sure thats not blocked up- maybe that being clogged would creat enough pressure for the oil to flow into your tunnel.

Yes Zabo the bushing and seal. Oh Bugga's is leaking bad enough to smell up the inside of the car. I went to Lindy's today and got a new one, I'll post how it goes with me replacing mine.

If it turns into a headache let me know. Have a few sets of complete gasket sets for trans here, your welcome to one if needed. Also when you do it, make sure your breather hole is clear, if clogged will start pushing oil out where it can.
