What is the difference in the early and late 40 motors besides fresh air and stale air?

Early 40 horse heads had round rocker bosses with the screw in from behind threaded things, which leak. Later 40 horses had heads with square rocker bosses.

hahaha, nice. i was working on a 40 horse i had lying around a few weeks ago, and noticed one head had the round, and the other was square. Laughing
