I like the 65, since its rust free, and has new heater channels. Also looks pretty solid, tho it does need floorpans, but i think it would be a good learning experience for everyone. whatever we do i just can't wait to start tearing the damn thing apart Twisted Evil

What about a Squareback rat-rod...there's one for $300 in Newnan. Anyone seen this one in person?

The guy selling the squareback is a giant D-bag. Zabo posted that link in the heads-up section, and I offered to check it out for him. I've left the seller one email, 2 voicemails and actually talked to a lady there over the phone who said it was still for sale. She took my name and number and said "Matt" would call me back. No call backs at all. Why the hell would someone list a car on craiglist (and it's also on the local newnan classifieds) and then not call people back?????

I call it fishing. 1 call in 4 weeks and you let it go for $300. 35 call in 4 weeks and the price goes to $700. 18 calls at the $700 rate and it goes to a thousand and so on and so on. Kind of a personal ebay.

I talked to the guy last week, he was willing to meet me to go look at it, but school kept me busy. I'm going to be in Newnan Monday and Tuesday and free in the evening. Anyone want to go take a look at it with me if I hear back from the guy?

Yeah man, if you go look at, let me know. I did a 411 reverse search of his phone number and I'm less that 2 miles from him.

That would still give him D-bag status in my book Laughing

Oh I'm not defending him. I think most people are dicks.

I definitely like it! How easy would it be to find parts for? Would it sit on a vw pan or it's original pan?

I am not sure how we would do the pan. I was thinking maybe just build a custom pan. You could leave it on the regular pan but a roll cage with beam clamps would be needed.

Parts we would just use vw or homemade.....
