Yep, those are the flaps. The guy was selling them last week for 45/pair plus 10. Glad I waited! He dropped the price 20 bucks. I have looked on Ratwell http://www.ratwell.com/technical/Mudflaps.html from what I can tell, it looks nothing like that under my 70. I dont think they were a factory option until 72, so I will have to figure something out.
Scott I would like those plans if you dont mind.... |

| Well shit. They aren't there anymore. They were on the Ratwell site under "Jamie River's mudflap bracket plans" but the link is dead. Maybe it is temporary. _________________ Scott Burel "Call me if I need you" 71 Standard Beetle, "Big Bird" 74 Westfalia, "Winifrid" www.burelphotography.com**Future CS Club Member** |

| No problem. I have seen them on there a while back, but I didnt save it since I had no flaps! Now it seems to be gone? O well. Thanks anyway. |

I got my flaps in over the weekend. They look pretty good after I cleaned them up. A small piece of the vw logo had chipped off, but other than that perfect. Now just have to decide how to hang em.
Did you get yours Scott? |

| Just got them and they are awesome. I'll let you know what I figure out about the mounts. Right now I could bolt the on as is. You can attach them to the inner well extension, just where it sticks below the battery tray but it puts them high up. Here are the flaps. 1/2" thick and 2.5 lbs a piece. This is the look I want. _________________ Scott Burel "Call me if I need you" 71 Standard Beetle, "Big Bird" 74 Westfalia, "Winifrid" www.burelphotography.com**Future CS Club Member**

Cool. I have the cloud white top & bumpers on my bus, so the "off white / yellowed" vw logo matches great! I think I am going to mount them like you mentioned, on the wheel well extension. Im not out driving thru the mud or anything...they are just for show! |

| Alright Rich, I picked up the steel today for around 20 bucks. I'll document the process following that plan and post it later. _________________ Scott Burel "Call me if I need you" 71 Standard Beetle, "Big Bird" 74 Westfalia, "Winifrid" www.burelphotography.com**Future CS Club Member** |

| Wow, how cool is that, your vintage blue cooler matches the blue on your bus! Looks great. _________________ Sometimes I wonder.......Why is that Frisbee getting bigger?......And then it hits me.
