| I bout her off of craigslist, paid $3k for it, very nice guy Lamar... he didn't want just anyone to buy it unless they new what they were doing. i sold my 91 muddin burban to get her<=== it is hard to sell a burban at a time like this $160 to fill her up i sold it for $3k . It accually took me a couple of months to get her I gave the guy a deposit to hold her for me and he wrote a contract for 30 days, of course no one wanted the burban at $5500 so I just said screw it I want the bug and dropped the price to $3, and it sold in a few days. I missed the burban... until Lamar delivered the bug the next day, then it was right to work on her. I finished up the wiring and installed my stereo that day. heres the burban It was a BEAST: |

| I've got suicide doors on my 60 also. I'm interested to see how they accomplished it on your car. Do you mind posting pictures where the doors latch and the hinges are? | Looks like a hack job, I will be grinding the heck out of those and cleaning everything up, all I need is time. I might just cut it all out and redo everything when i get the bear claw latches, solenoids, poppers and remotes all together. I havent even touched the doors yet just want to get everything together first. To support the weight of the door they dont sag so its working Pass side Can you post some pics of yours?

| I used to drive past that car on my way to work. Was a pretty cool looking car but I never stopped to get a closer look. Looks like the suicide doors are going to need some work. Good news is it cost less than forty bucks to fill it up. With all the money you're saving on gas, you'll have that thing cruisin in no time. |

| Car looks good and I love the doors (even if they do need some work). I'm looking forward to seeing it in person on the 16th. It was nice meeting you and your wife the other day by the way. Thanks for coming out even if the rain cancelled everything. At least we got a chance to put some faces to names and talk a little. |

| Depends - you may need to upgrade your engine first. What do you currently have? From the pictures it looks like you my have at leat a 1600 Dual Port. Sorry I haven't posted the pictures of my suicide doors yet. It has been a busy week. I am working on uploading them now. See them in my discussion for the 1960 Beetle Bagged. _________________ Jason ------ 1960 VW Beetle - Bagged ------ Aircooled Addicts www.aircooledaddicts.org------ | Jake Raby wrote: | | Breaking a tranny is the best compliment an engine builder can receive. |

| The engine is an 1835 with proflow heads, it was built for racing a while back, at least thats what i was told. It is pretty powerful no problem rotiserising those tires I will be rebuilding it before I put any type of boost through it. I figured my 05 gli is a 1.8l turbo, why not make my 59 bug an 1835t |

| Ok I did a little rust work yesterday and today I installed my Solo baric L7, I had two in the GLI why not share? also found out when I put my door speakers in I hooked the drivers side up right but the pass side I had hooked to the left rear thats why it sounded funny on certain songs . Note to self "dont hook up radio on beer" it made a world of difference on the tunes. Heres some visuals It fits and sounds great The other half of the old box The box in the GLI Im not sure if i wanna buy a new fender or just weld that crack, Ill probably weld it, I drilled a hole to stop the crack from spreading, learned that from working on the airframes of F-18s A few more spots I took care of, not too much it was HUMID yesterday Heres a little im gonna tackle tomorrow Just felt like posting my gas pedal, Its pretty cool, anyone know who makes these? Its not much but I just felt like I had to do some work to her |
